What’s been happening with us?

Paul Senior retirement!

After many years of dedicated service, we are proud to congratulate our father (Paul senior) on a well-earned retirement.

Our Father has provided exceptional care to our patients with compassion, professionalism, and expertise, making a lasting impact on our clinic and the community. We are incredibly grateful for his commitment and the difference he had made in so many lives.

On behalf of everyone we thank him for his years of service and wish him a retirement filled with good health, happiness, and new adventures.

Pauls Talk with McTimoney Chiropractic School

I was recently invited into McTimoney Chiropractic school to discuss the role of a Podiatrist in treating MSK lower limb pain, It was a pleasure speaking with chiropractic students about the role of podiatry and the important part we play in patient care.

The key message is - Podiatry is so much more than nails and corns!

Although this is a big part of our job, we can do so much more - We assess how people walk, stand, and move, looking at the whole lower limb to identify the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction, whether this is joint or muscle pain.

By understanding biomechanics and movement, we can help improve mobility, reduce pain, and prevent future injuries.

One of the key messages I shared was the value of collaboration. When podiatrists and chiropractors work together, we can provide more comprehensive care and achieve better outcomes for our patients, as well as this we carried out a practical session where I demonstrated a typical lower limb biomechanical assessment and how we carry this out in our everyday practice.

Thank you for the opportunity to speak with such an engaged group of future healthcare professionals. I look forward to seeing more interdisciplinary collaboration in the years ahead!

A Little about us?

The Abbey Chiropody & Podiatry Clinic is a family run clinic and was established in 1983 by Paul Neighbour (Senior).

The clinic is now run by Paul (Junior), Tom and Allister.

When I'm not in the clinic, life is kept very busy by my two young children, Sophie (age 5) and Benjamin (age 2).

I'm a keen runner and love getting out for a run with my energetic Border Collie, Jess. Whether it's a quick jog before work or exploring local trails, it's my favourite way to unwind and stay active.

When I find a little spare time, you'll often find me attempting to play the guitar. I won't be performing on stage anytime soon, but I enjoy the challenge.

I believe that staying active and maintaining a healthy work-life balance helps me bring energy and enthusiasm to my patients every day. I enjoy getting to know the people I treat and helping them stay mobile, comfortable, and doing the activities they love.

Coming soon!

After spending 8 years as a hairdresser and barber I retrained as a podiatrist and joined my dad and brothers in the family business.

I enjoy helping people stay active by improving their foot health and mobility.

Outside of work, I love keeping active. I play tennis in a few local Premier Leagues, love padel, running, mountain biking, walking, and hiking. A few other hobbies that are more relaxed involve kicking back to a good movie, 3D printing and gardening.

My active lifestyle gives me a real appreciation of how important healthy feet are.

The clinic was previously based in Bath street, Abingdon. However due to patient demand and Paul, Tom and Allister joining the business - the old premises became too small. This led to us moving to Coxeter House in March 2023 which we have converted into a purpose built podiatry clinic.

Since moving to Coxeter house in 2023 we have invested a lot of time and resources into the clinic to make it what it is today, we have also introduced a lot of new treatments such as:

We have done this so we can further help treat foot, ankle and lower leg problems (please click the above links for more information on these treatments)

All our Podiatrists are HCPC registered and commit to regular CPD events so that knowledge and protocols are kept up to date. We are also constantly implementing new methods and treatments in order to ensure that we are doing all we can for our patients.
